Long Weekend at Docklands: Black Light Mini Golf, Etihad Stadium Tour, Under Cover Sunday Market & Super Tuesday

With an extra day added to our weekend, there’s no excuse to not get out and about!

Family Fun at Black Light Mini Golf
Mini Golf with a twist! The addition of UV lighting has transformed good old-fashioned mini golf into a “glow in the dark” experience, that’s fun for all the family.

There’s 18 holes of fun, with the favourite being the The Kingswood Ute. In this hole, you hit the ball into the back of the ute and out it comes via the exhaust. You can even get into the car and listen to your favourite Australian tunes. This mini golf is the first of its kind in Australia.

Black Light Mini Golf is located at Harbour Town Shopping Centre. Opening hours for this weekend are:
    Friday & Saturday: 10am til 11pm
    Sunday: 10am til 6pm
Queens Birthday Monday: 10am til 8pm

    Docklands Under Cover Sunday Market
The weather is sending everyone indoors, and now the weekly Sunday market at Docklands is following suit. Still featuring all the regular great stalls, the market now has a new under cover Winter location for June, July & August. Head along to find jewelry, hats and scarfs, kids clothing, books, gift ideas and much much more!

Make a day of it and head to a nearby Docklands restaurant for lunch. A lunch favourite is Mecca Bah, with dishes full of Middle Eastern flavours and spices, located right on the Waterfront.

The new location for the Docklands Sunday market is Pavilion at Waterfront City Piazza. (Opposite Tram D11 Docklands Drive). Trams head to the Docklands all day, but if you are looking to drive, Harbourside Shopping Centre has $5 all day parking.

    Find more info here.

Etihad Stadium behind the scenes tour
A lot of us have probably been to a football game or perhaps a concert at Etihad Stadium, but how many have actually seen what goes on behind the scenes?

Head on a tour this weekend and visit the AFL players' change rooms, the players/coaches' briefing room, the coaches' box, experience the feel of walking up the AFL umpires' tunnel and much more. You’ll also find out lots of interesting facts about the venue, such as it being the only football stadium in the Southern Hemisphere with a fully retractable roof, taking only 8 minutes to close.

Etihad stadium hosts night tours, weekend tours, group tours, educational tours and more.
