    Last Slow Sunday $15 lunch + drink deal this weekend

    Reminder: This Sunday is the LAST of the Slow Sunday dining deals at the Docklands.

    Visit a participating restaurant between 2pm and 6pm and you can save big time. Simply order a tasting plate or small meal, and a glass of wine or beer, and you'll pay just $15.

    Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free meals are also available.

    Footy: Carlton v Adelaide; Collingwood v Bulldogs - last weekend for free footy activities!

    This weekend at Etihad Stadium it's bound to be another bumper round as teams try desperately to hang onto their spots for the finals.

    Tomorrow (Sat, 29th Aug) Carlton takes on Adelaide during a twilight match that starts at 4.10pm (gates open at 2pm). While on Sunday (30th Aug), Collingwood will battle it out with Western Bulldogs who sit just below them at fourth on the ladder. The game will commence at 4.40pm - note there is a late state to this twilight game.

    If you're planning to attend either game, consider arriving by boat in to the Waterfront City Marina and docking at any of the public berths available. From here it's a short walk to the Etihad Stadium. Bookings are essential, please phone Melbourne Docklands Marine on (03) 9658 8738 or email berthing@melbourne.vic.gov.au.

    Alternatively, you can also get to the games by train from Southern Cross Station, or tram. Tickets to each game are available through www.ticketmaster.com.au.

    The Docklands is also hosting free footy activities for the kids before each game throughout August. This Saturday and Sunday, before the Carlton vs. Adelaide and Collingwood vs. Western Bulldogs games you and the kids can get involved in:

    • Interactive virtual football
    • Face painting

    Free event: MELBOURNE DAY! All aboard the Enterprize

    Melbourne Day is this Sunday, 30th August and there are plenty of fun and free activities to enjoy around this great city of ours.

    At the Docklands, it's all aboard the Enterprize. Melbourne’s first settlers embarked from Launceston aboard the schooner Enterprize in 1835. On Melbourne Day, a replica of this striking tall ship will be berthed at Waterfront City and it is opening to the public to celebrate. Free tours aboard the Enterprize give people of all ages the opportunity to experience life on board a nineteenth century sailing ship.

    Melbourne Spring Fashion Week comes to The Designers' House, Docklands

    As Melbourne readies itself for the start of Melbourne Spring Fashion Week, the Docklands will also welcome the event at The Designers' House.

    Designers' House will host a Styling Workshop and Fashion Parade, featuring special guest Australian Designer, Tim O'Connor. He will showcase his stunning new Spring/Summer Collection, that will be available in store at Designers' House. Guests will also have the opportunity to speak one-on-one with Tim, and grab a few styling tips. Other Designers' House labels will also feature in a beautiful fashion parade.

    Trivia Night each Thursday at The Nixon

    Action Zone is where the action is (Wed to Sun)

    What could be more fun than using giant inflatable objects to bounce on, swing from and balance with?

    Action Zone at Waterfront City in the Docklands is home to various inflatable amusement products and activities. The brand new technology, known as Krush KushioNZ, allows for some of the most innovative and exciting games around.

    Yoga in the Docklands: Tuesdays, Thursdays & Fridays

    All throughout Autumn, yoga in the Docklands has been helping transform lives.

    Open to all ages and experience levels, students are taught how to breathe, relax and stretch, based around the breath-centred hatha yoga.

    Your instructor is Nadine Fawell, who has five years of teaching and 3000 hours of experience under her belt. She holds group classes Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, as well as offers private sessions and workshops.

    For group classes, mats are provided so just bring yourself. Each class is $20, or $16.50 if you sign up for a full term. Private and workshop sessions vary in price, click here for more details.

    Costco opening draws thousands of bargain-hunters

    Thousands of bargain-hunters have descended upon Melbourne's Docklands this morning to welcome the opening of the first Australian Costco supermarket.

    The US retailer opened its doors at 7.30am this morning as eager shoppers queued outside, some from as early as 5am. More sign-ups for the membership-only store took place yesterday, with many keen to check out what is on offer inside the warehouse store.

    Costco sells everything from cheap groceries to flat screen TVs, and stocks up to 3600 different product lines.

    Footy time! Melb Victory vs Bris Roar and Essendon vs St Kilda

    As we inch nearer to finals time, the action on the field is really hotting up. This weekend it's another two massive games at Etihad Stadium.

    Miranda Kerr sizzles up the Docklands for David Jones S/S '09 launch

    If you were in the Docklands vicinity yesterday then you might have a spotted herds of ultra trendy black-clad fashionistas converging on Victoria Harbour. Why? Two words...

    As the much talked about face of David Jones, the Aussie supermodel is currently in town to launch the retailer's Spring/Summer '09 collection. Yesterday she hit the catwalk to model some of the sexy new swimwear designs soon to hit our shelves.

    Turning up the heat inside the glittery Peninsula shed, Kerr was undeniably the star attraction. If this is the sign of things to come, then we can't wait for Melbourne Spring Fashion Week, which begins next month!

    New 'Discover Docklands' TV campaign to hit our screens

    We are gearing up for the new 'Discover Docklands' television campaign, that is due to roll-out this weekend.

    The new ads to promote the Docklands precinct will highlight its many restaurants, activities, events and shopping outlets.

    Keep your eyes peeled for the ads which will debut on Channel 9 this Sunday night, and will roll-out via the rest of the channels including 7, 10, ABC and 31 over the coming weeks.
