    Mark Webber to thrill fans at Docklands this weekend in the 'Red Bull Run'!

    Australian Formula One champion Mark Webber is set to thrill Australian fans with a taste of his high-octane expertise by crossing Melbourne’s iconic Bolte Bridge in a Red Bull Racing F1 car.

    The spectacular ‘Red Bull Run’ will take place at 9.45am on Saturday 19 March as a prelude to the 2011 Formula 1™ Qantas Australian Grand Prix and opening round of the 2011 FIA Formula One World Championship season.

    Thousands of spectators are expected to gather at Docklands’ Waterfront City to view the live action via super-screen and hear the roar of the Red Bull F1 car overhead. Following his bridge cross, Mark will drive the car down to the Waterfront City Piazza to greet lucky fans and Australian F1 commentator Greg Rust.

    Fans are encouraged to arrive at Waterfront City Piazza from 9am to secure a vantage point. Festivities will kick off at 9.30am.

    After the festivities, explore the great food and restaurants around the Docklands, perhaps sit down to some great Aussie beef at Steakhouse or dine on some fresh seafood at nearby Livebait.

    The Icehouse Grand Opening - Friday 12th February!

    Get ready Melbourne, because The Icehouse is about to open its doors. Australia's first ice sports and entertainment venue, including two Olympic ice rinks, opens at 7pm this Friday 12th February at Waterfront City, Docklands.

    The Icehouse also features winter sports gym, stadium seating, cafe and bar, plus much more. Open to the public, it will be available to skaters of all ages and experience levels from professional to beginner. Ice-skating will be on offer every day of the week, allowing you to take lessons from qualified instructors or join one of the many skate schools or sporting clubs, including curling or ice hockey.

    Watch the Australian Open 2010 LIVE at Waterfront City

    Don't forget you can catch all the Australian Open 2010 action live at Docklands.

    The big screens at Waterfront City will be screening matches each day between 18th and 31st January. Televised broadcast will begin from 11am to 11pm (guaranteed minimum, subject to hours of play). There will be live coverage of the Australian Open, plus select coverage of Brisbane International, Morrilla Hobart and Medibank Private Opens.

    Don't forget to check out the variety of nearby restaurants and bars for a bite or drink while you cheer on your favourite players.

    Get your dancing shoes on at Docklands: Movie Moves & Sunday Salsa

    There is no better time to throw on those dancing shoes and get active than over the summer months. At Docklands there are a few ways to get that booty shaking, whether it's for fitness or fun, or both!

    Tomorrow: Skyline Victoria's annual Show 'n' Shine

    Approximately 80 of the clubs finest cars will be on display for Skyline Victoria's Annual Show 'n' Shine this weekend. From 10am to 3pm tomorrow, you can watch as these car owners show off their pride and joy along the Waterfront City promenade.

    The public will be able to walk around the cars and talk to the owners about things from looks to outright horsepower. Cars will include the legendary Nissan GTR all the way to Mitsubishi EVO’s. Street cars, circuit cars, something for everyone.

    Paint Our World
    11 – 15 January 2010

    Starting from a simple drawn circle, your child will be encouraged to paint a face that reflects their world – be it neighbour, friend or family. Each completed painting will be photographed to create a tapestry of our world through their eyes. Suitable for children 5 to 12 years.

    Award winning international artists have sculpted 20 tonnes of golden sand into an extraordinary and eye-catching sand installation in the heart of Docklands.     What to do for New Year's Eve? Take your pick at Docklands!

    As 2009 draws to a close, now is the time to start thinking about your plans for New Year's Eve. At Docklands, there are plenty of ways to celebrate New Year's Eve starting with the annual dinner cruise on board the grand vessel "Voyager".

    The 3.5 hour cruise includes a three course meal, open bar with standard drinks (spirits, wine, beer, soft drink), live DJ with spacious dance floor, all with a prime view of the fireworks along the river.

    There are also a range of special dining events taking place at a variety of Docklands restaurants. Each dinner includes canapes, a three-course meal, a glass of sparkling wine on arrival and a prime view of the waterfront fireworks.     Another event which is bound to draw huge crowds again this NYE is Sensation at Etihad Stadium. Known as the "white party", it began last year and has quickly become one of the biggest dance parties in the Southern Hemisphere. Tickets may be purchased from Ticketmaster. Dining and VIP packages are also available to through the Etihad Stadium website.

    At Waterfront City, the fun continues with free activities for the whole family. Live entertainment kicks off at 6pm all the way until 1am with DJ Mark Anthony who will be playing everything from funk and soul to commercial top 40, house and retro '80s. The programme also includes the Gee Whiz Kids band for the youngsters, and performances from 10-piece band Alchemy and Australia's leading funk act, Nudist Funk Orchestra.

    Nissan Datsun Sports Owner Show 'n' Shine: this Sunday 15th November

    This Sunday make sure to check out the Nissan Datsun Sports Owner Show 'n' Shine event at Waterfront City, Docklands.

    The Nissan Datsun Sports Owner Club (NDSOC) comprises of approximately 400 members who share the common interest in both classic and modern Nissan Datsun Sporting vehicles. The NDSOC is very active in both competition and social events with members competing at club race days on a monthly basis.

    The Club based in Victoria is a club of hundreds of enthusiastic members enjoying great club events. On Sunday November 15th the NDSOC will show their cars with pride - along the waterfront promenade at Docklands. From 10am - 4pm enjoy a display of approximately 70 cars, including early Datsun sports cars of the 60's - 70's through to modern Nissan sporting vehicles.

    Back a winner: Oaks Day to screen live at Waterfront City

    Did you clean up at the Cup yesterday? Never mind, there's another chance to back a winner tomorrow at Crown Oaks Ladies Day. In traditional form, the ladies will be frocking up for the occasion, and you can watch it all from the big screens at Waterfront City piazza, Docklands.

    You won't even need to leave to place a bet either thanks to a handy mobile TAB which will be located on-site at Waterfront City until November 7th.

    Watch the Caulfield Cup on the big screens and place your bets at Waterfront City piazza

    Are you looking for somewhere to sit back and watch the Caulfield Cup, place bets and not be overwhelmed by the crowds? Then get yourself down to the Docklands tomorrow!

    We'll be screening all the major races LIVE on the big screens at Waterfront City Piazza, throughout October and November. Placing those bets will also be hassle-free thanks to a mobile TAB which will be located on-site at Waterfront City from October 3rd - November 7th. So you don't even need to leave the comfort of the Docklands surroundings - very handy!

    Event: The Jaguar Show, Sunday 4th October '09

    The Jaguar Car Club of Victoria is the oldest Jaguar Club in Australia and was founded in 1962 by a small band of dedicated enthusiasts.

    Share your love for these exquisite vehicles at this year’s Jaguar Car Show at Waterfront City. Basque in the prestige of this amazing car display whilst enjoying the entertainment on offer. Cars will be judged and prizes awarded.

    AFL Grand Final Day at the Docklands - what's on!

    It seems as though everyone in Melbourne is gearing up for this Saturday's blockbuster AFL Grand Final between St Kilda and Geelong.

    There is plenty happening at the Docklands to get you in the Grand Final mood with the game being screened live from the screens at Waterfront City Piazza.

    Between 10am and 2pm, there is also FREE activities for the kids to enjoy. Including:
    • Handball competitions
    • Face painting
    • Goal kicking
    • Interactive football
    • Footy obstacle course
    If you prefer somewhere indoors to watch the game, then The Lounge Hotel will also be showing the game live on their big screen. Kick off is at 2.40pm so make sure to get down there early to grab a table.

    Which team will you be barracking for?

    >> Update: Tomorrow night, Etihad Stadium will play host to the VFL Grand Final between North Ballarat and the Northern Bullants. The game will commence at 7.10pm.

    Earlier, at 4.10pm the TAC Cup Grand Final between the Dandenong Stingrays and Calder Canons will also be played.

    Action Zone is where the action is (Wed to Sun)

    What could be more fun than using giant inflatable objects to bounce on, swing from and balance with?

    Action Zone at Waterfront City in the Docklands is home to various inflatable amusement products and activities. The brand new technology, known as Krush KushioNZ, allows for some of the most innovative and exciting games around.

    Some of the activities to get stuck into includes: Face Off, High Wire Walk, Super Swing and Bungy Trampoline.
