With AFL Grand Final just barely behind us, it's the Spring Racing Carnival that we'll all soon be talking about.

Event: The Car Fair Grand Opening, Sunday 4th October '09

The Car Fair is a new concept to Melbourne – they have combined the convenience of having hundreds of vehicles in one place at one time with the value of buying/selling direct.

Buying and selling direct can save thousands of dollars in dealer commission. The Car Fair will be held every Sunday morning from 4 October 2009 at 453- 507 Docklands Drive (the site where Cirque du Soleil were located).

Sellers need to arrive between 9am and 10am on Sunday to park their vehicles. Gates are open for buyers to view cars between 10am and 2pm each Sunday. Vehicle inspection, vehicle finance and other services will be available onsite to assist with purchases.

AFL Grand Final Day at the Docklands - what's on!

It seems as though everyone in Melbourne is gearing up for this Saturday's blockbuster AFL Grand Final between St Kilda and Geelong.

There is plenty happening at the Docklands to get you in the Grand Final mood with the game being screened live from the screens at Waterfront City Piazza.

Between 10am and 2pm, there is also FREE activities for the kids to enjoy. Including:

• Face painting
• Goal kicking

AC/DC confirmed to play at Etihad Stadium, 11th Feb 2010

First Pearl Jam and now AC/DC...

Watch out Melbourne, the original godfathers of Aussie rock 'n' roll are coming back, this time to bring down the house at Etihad Stadium!

AC/DC have announced that they are bringing their 'Black Ice' world tour down under for three shows in February next year. Joining them on their tour will be Grammy and Aria Award winning band, Wolfmother.

So huge is this event it requires 48 semi-trailers to move it around the country, making it one of the largest stage productions of all time.

New changes to Docklands tram routes 48 and 70

If you regularly commute to and from Docklands then listen up! New changes to tram routes no. 48 and 70 have taken effect as of Sunday, 20th September 2009. Information sourced via Yarra Trams website below:

North Balwyn to Victoria Harbour, Docklands – via Collins Street

A revised Route 48 will boost tram services to Docklands via Collins and Spring Streets, starting 20 September 2009.

Route 48 which currently travels from North Balwyn to Waterfront City, Docklands via Flinders Street will instead travel via Spring Street and Collins Street to its new terminus at Victoria Harbour, Docklands.

This new service will provide a direct link between Victoria Harbour, Southern Cross Station, the heart of the CBD and the “Paris end” of Collins Street.

Route 48 services from North Balwyn will now turn right from Wellington Parade into Spring Street, left into Collins Street and continue via Collins Street West to Victoria Harbour, Docklands.

Collins Street Services

As well as Route 48, Collins Street will be serviced by Route 109 (Box Hill – Port Melbourne) and Route 112 (West Preston – St Kilda/Fitzroy Street). Route 31 (St Vincent’s Plaza – Collins Street West End) will no longer operate. Some Collins Street services (Routes 11 and 42) which formerly terminated at Collins Street West End will now continue to Victoria Harbour, Docklands.

Flinders Street Services

Routes 70 and 75 will operate in Flinders Street as well as a new shuttle service.

Changes to Route 70

Route 70 (Wattle Park – Bourke Street Docklands) which currently terminates outside the NAB building on Harbour Esplanade will be extended along Harbour Esplanade and Docklands Drive via NewQuay to its
new terminus at Waterfront City, Docklands. This will replace the Route 48 services via Harbour Esplanade and Docklands Drive to NewQuay and Waterfront City.

Full details of the changes to both Route 48 and Route 70 will be available on board trams and at tram stops.

Thursdays at Docklands offers something for everyone...

Every Thursday, Fish Seafood Grill holds weekly Oyster tastings. Sample freshly shucked oysters sourced from up to five different regions across Australia.

Melbourne Spring Fashion Week: Pandora's Wonderland & ELFE events, Docklands

As many of you will already know, Melbourne Spring Fashion Week kicks off today in the city.

Down at the Docklands, there is also plenty happening starting on Wednesday 2nd August with Eco Luxe Fashion Expose which celebrates all things eco-friendly. From 7pm until midnight, it will showcase eco-luxe brands, market stalls, and fashion parades at Alumbra, Central Pier. Tickets are $20 on the door.

Then on Thursday 3rd August Pandora's Wonderland is hosting a Spring Fashion and Racing Carnival Launch also at Alumbra, Central Pier. Featuring DJ sets and fashion parades by a variety of labels including Kuwaii and Natalie Begg. Tickets are $20 + booking fee, click here to find out more.
