As the year draws to a close, a great way to get your work colleagues together for a fun and active event is by registering them for the 2009 Corporate Dragon Boat Challenge. It is the ultimate team building activity and anyone can do it.
The Challenge consists of two races for each team, conducted over a 200m course on Victoria Harbour Docklands, with a final race for the fastest four teams.
Teams must be made up of a minimum of 8 women and 12 men paddlers along with a drummer, who sits at the bow to set the stroke rate and keep the team in time. Also, team members must have a bonafide connection with the company
(i.e. employee, family, business associate, etc.)
On event day, Dragon Boats Victoria will provide the dragon boats, paddles, life jackets, an accredited helm/sweep to steer for each team and a comprehensive safety briefing prior to racing. Prior to the event, DBV will also offer 2 free 1 hour coaching sessions.
Team entry is $1000, up to 26 participants per team (includes 5 emergencies). Closing date for entries is Thursday 19th November 2009.
Event Date: Wednesday, 25th November 2009 from 3pm
