It's on again! Arguably the greatest urban adventure challenge in the world, the Rat Race hits Melbourne again in 2009 and promises to be even bigger, better, higher and wetter (surely not…) than last year.From Melbourne Rat Race central at Waterfront City at Docklands, the Rat Race promises to take competitors on a roller coaster ride of fun, adrenalin and discovery through the heart of Melbourne. From urban climbing to zip lines, kayaking to navigation, riding to scrambling, an entire new side of Melbourne will be on display like never before.
Teams of three will run, ride, kayak, climb, abseil, and so much more over two days on the weekend of November 28 and 29.The format will be the original Weekender Program – a Saturday and Sunday mix, incorporating the Mean Streets Prologue, and the Rat Race Adventure Challenge.
When approached to comment on what was in store for the 2009 Melbourne Race, Australian Rat Race course designer David Wolf responded with a firm “no comment”! Hold on to your hats Melbourne, for the world’s coolest city is about to be Ratified – again!
